Youth and & Children's Component

The purpose of this ministry is to invest in the lives of low income, disadvantaged and at risk young people, by directing their attention and energy in productive ways, by providing a positive environment with opportunities for personal growth, development, and progress, which will reduce gang violence, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, and general juvenile delinquency, and give youth an opportunity to become successful and productive community members.

Our goal is to nurture and support the “whole” young person (mentally, physically, spiritually, and financially), in order to assist in becoming healthy, productive, and successful adults that are assets to the community, the city, the world and the Body of Christ as the whole.

Y.E.S.

(Youth & Young Adults Component)

The Youth and Young Adults Component of the Y.E.S. Ministry holds fast to the concept of “No Child Left Behind”, understanding that the entire community benefits when disadvantaged youth, who may have tendencies to exhibit destructive behavior, begin to make a life-long transition through social and physical enrichment, and community involvement.   The program is geared toward meeting the needs of the “whole” young person, by offering youth mental, physical and spiritual support, in order to assist them in becoming healthy, productive, and successful adults who are assets to the community. The Y.E.S. Program has a specialized interest in fostering mental stability through mental health referrals, peer support groups and workshops in the following areas:  violence prevention, substance abuse prevention, anger management.  The program also offers self-esteem building workshops covering topics such as; proper hygiene, maintaining a positive attitude, dealing with negative peer pressures, finding a support system, building good character, shooting for success, the benefits of abstinence, as well as STD and HIV Prevention and Education.

 In addition, the program offers training and teaching on developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and a healthy diet through the use of the California 5 a Day Campaign for Healthy Active Families. Physical fitness equipment is also available for the young people to use at the program site.  The Y.E.S. Program also makes spiritual enrichment available through retreats, conferences, dramatic presentations, training opportunities, and community services. 

Y.E.S. is also in the process of developing a “Young Leaders Prep for Success Program”, designed to encourage youth to have goals of becoming leaders in their communities.  This program will promote community involvement by forming partnerships with living assistance communities, small business owners and Stockton ’s neighborhood clean-up task forces.  Involvement in the community will not only empower the youth, but also revive the spirit of community responsibility, self-respect and hope.

(Children's Component)

 The Children's Component of the Y.E.S. Ministry is dedicated to instilling Godly principles into our children by educating them about the Lord Jesus, teaching them about who they are in Him and assuring them of God's love, power and protection. 

Our staff works to lead our children by example and works to assit them in becoming obedient disciples as children (King's Kids), which will help them be victorious and successful as adolescents(Youth and Young Adults) and ultimately develop into mighty men and women of God.

Currently the ministry holds Kings Kids and Children's Church which are weekly activities, which provide an opportunity for children ages 5-12 to interact , fellowship, play, learn and come to know the Lord Jesus with other children at their own age level.
